FAQ

* Is pest control safe for my family and pets?   YES.   We only use the latest and safest products on the market.  For some of our treatments, we may ask you to vacate the premises for a short period of time during treatment.   The vacate period is generally 2 hours, however for asthmatics, children under 12months, pregnant ladies or people with a heart condition the recommended vacate period is 4 hours.   Dog food and water bowls should be removed while treatment is taking place and replaced afterwards.

How long will my treatment last?   The insect type, severity of the problem, environmental factors and frequency of treatment are all factors that will determine how long a treatment will last.   We provide a 6 month warranty with many of our treatments so you can have confidence that the job is being done right.

What if we have pets?   Pets should be vacated for specified vacating time, however if they cannot be, they can be placed in an area away from treated areas.   Fish tanks and bird cages should be covered with a towel or sheet.   Pet food and water bowls should be removed while treatment is taking place and replaced afterwards.

* How long does it take to see results?  Results will vary according to the pest type and the treatment program.   For example, immediate results can be seen when a wasp nest is treated or removed, however, if using baits for Rodents, the process can take longer since the pest has to ingest the product.   Our pest technician with outline what to expect for your particular problem.   All pests have different habits and life cycles, but by providing a warranty with many of our treatments, if the pests return, so do we.

Why should I hire a professional when I can do it myself?  A licensed pest control technician has specialised training and knowledge, knows where to look for pests and can make recommendations.  DIY pest control can be expensive, more time consuming than people anticipate and are often unsuccessful.   A professional can address reasons why pests may be present and help prevent future infestations.   In the end, you can waste a lot of time, money and effort attempting DIY pest control, only to call in professional help anyway.

* Does the treatment smell?  The products that Command Pest Control use inside homes are water based and are considered to be low odour or no odour.

* Why am I seeing more pest activity after my treatment?  It is common to see an increase in activity for a short time following a treatment.   This increase in activity will reduce over time as more pests die.  Because the pests are exposed to a product that is an irritant, it is not uncommon to see an increase in activity.
